Disclaimer:

This might be a shocker, but these pages are filled with my opinions. Go figure. I maintain this blog as a way of sharing my successes and failures with those interested in fitness and training. Some of you have more experience than me, so if you see me blogging about a topic you could shed light on, please comment. Some of you will have less experience than me and hopefully my insights and mistakes will help you along in your own journey. I don’t feel comfortable dispensing advice yet, but it might simply help to know that someone else is experiencing the same thing that you are going through with your own training. And some of you might simply like to read about training and racing from someone else’s perspective.

Throughout many of my postings, I provide URLs to external sites. I do this to add to the content in my postings, and I do my best to make sure that at the time of my posting, the links are operational. However, despite being a blogger, I am not much of a navel gazer and I do not re-read my old posts regularly. If you find a dead link, please contact me here. and let me know so I can fix it. As far as the content at the other end of the links, it is solely the opinion of that content provider. Please do not infer any endorsement on my part of the ideas contained there.

So, what about you as the reader? I care about your privacy too. I follow my ISP’s and Server’s security policies to prevent unauthorized access.

Privacy:

I do not sell, share, or trade personally identifying information collected through this website, unless required by law.

Google Adsense advises that visitors to my site be made aware of the manner in which they use cookies and other information. Google Adsense may use information (excluding name, address, telephone number, and email address) about visits to this and other websites in order to provide targeted advertisements. If you would like more information, get it straight from the horse mouth here at Google’s Privacy Page.

A Brief Word About Ads:

Why do I include ads on my site? They’ll certainly never make me rich. In fact, last year all the ads from all of my sites barely made enough to cover the cost of domain registration and server space. I include them for two reasons. First, they do cover the cost of maintaining my sites, which makes this my least expensive hobby. Second, I do my best to write the HTML and meta tags so that the ads presented are relevant and interesting to my visitors. If you’re reading a specific page, I infer that you find the topic interesting and therefore hopefully the ads are too. I try my best to display ads in an unobtrusive way. I don’t want them to detract from the quality of my site. Some of my best web surfing experiences are when I go looking for one thing and stumble upon something only tangentially related.

So, if you see an ad for something interesting, click on it. You are under no obligation to purchase anything.

Comments:

I welcome and encourage your comments, even the ones (especially the ones) that express dissenting opinions. I don’t expect everyone to view the world as I do. Provided that your comment is not overtly disrespectful or abusive, I WILL post it. I moderate comments before they are posted to prevent spamming or abuse. My comment volume at this point is low, so I don’t rely on an automated anti-spamming program. If volume increases in the future, I may. Ultimately this is my corner of the web and I am responsible for the content of these pages, so I maintain veto power over what goes up and what does not.

Note to Other Bloggers:

I am mindful of the desire to increase traffic at your own site. That is one reason I use CommentLuv as a comment manager. It’s a convenient way of linking back to your own blog. All I ask is that your comment is relevant and not simply an excuse to insert your link.

If you would like to “cross-pollenate” blogrolls to increase traffic, I ask the following: please review my site and see if you like it first before adding it to your blogroll. I will do the same before adding yours. Also, please make sure that your blogroll page is “crawlable” by robots.
