Sweat Test

My intent today when I set out was to force myself to run at a slower pace. And when I was running downhill, I think I was successful. I’m making a deliberate effort, especially on the downhill segments to run “softer” and to allow my muscle to act as shock absorbers, lessening the force to my tibias. I’ve been reluctant to say it outloud, but i have the ever so slightest twinge of pain in my left medial tibia, near where my fracture was. That is the main reason that I have not really upped my mileage yet, and also the reason that I’m trying to run softer. Anyway, despite my slower descents downhill, I finished today with the EXACT same time as Monday. This means that although my downhills were slower, I trudge uphill faster. Feels good. I also did the sweat test today that Holland talks about in his book. Basically you weigh yourself naked before your run and then again after your run, but during your run you deprive yourself of any water. I lost 1 pound in 25 minute, or roughly one liter of fluid per hour. Cheers.
