What a fun run!!! We got up this morning and McKenna and I made a quick trip to the farmer’s market. Then we came home quickly got the stroller ready for our run and set out on what has to be one of the prettiest weekends of the year. It’s 64 degrees, nothing but bright sun and blue sky and everywhere you look, foliage at its peak.
I have to start getting ready for the Wachusett Deer Run cross country race, so I set my mind to doing some trail running today. I took McKenna in the stroller insead of Aubrey, because I thought she’s withstand the off-road terrain better. We slipped under gate 49 just around mile 7 and had lots of fun on the trails. McKenna was trying to catch the leaves when they fell and I was trying to steer the stroller so that she’d have a better chance of catching them. It was a great distracting game. When we made it to the water’s edge, it was like looking at a postcard. The blue sky over the blue water with a rich palette of reds and yellows, and orages along the shore.
My ipod malfunctioned midway through the run so I had no real way of knowing how far we ran until I got home and mapped it out. A new personal best for me - McKenna and I ran for a little over 13 miles. This will be my long run for the week. My next two runs will be a lot shorter and then I have my next race on Saturday in Plymouth. That should be a beautiful run too. After that run, it’s party time at Sharon’s house!!!
