What a physically brutal and psychologically cruel run! This run starts at Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, goes through Palmer and ends in with a 1/2 way turn around point in West Warren. It takes your over Fox Hill and the first 3 miles are nearly ALL uphill - over 400 feet of ascent. But, just to mess with your mind, it is a typical back country road with lots of twists and turns, so that every bend you see might be the top of the climb. When you get to that bend you find out, nope, we’re still going up.
People drive like idiots on this road and there is no shoulder to speak of, certainly not a good run for the stroller. Nonetheless, I felt pretty good today. My left leg was only a nuisance and I got my breathing regulated pretty quickly. I’ll definitely do this run a few more times before my Wachusett race. Good hill training.
