Rain drops are falling on my head. Now, tell the truth, did you read that last sentence as a normal person would, or in cadence with the song melody?
Today was a great run. It was raining out so I left the kids behind and ran without the stroller. Uphills seem so much easier without that damn stroller. I felt great today. I got my breathing down pretty quickly and charged up the first hill without a thought. I had planned to do the short 2.8 mile route, but by the end of mile 1, I knew that I was going to stay right at the fork and do the 4 mile one. My last run was the 9 mile one, but I’m not going to run that again until after my race next week. This week I’ll taper and work on my tempo a bit more. I’m also beginning to learn that I need to focus on nutrition better. It’s been 24 days since I climbed back up on the running bandwagon, and since that time I’ve lost 5 pounds. Yesterday I was down to 174 and my ultimate goal is to be 165. That seems to be my balancing point between being thin, but not scrawny.
