OK, so here was the test for me today - Aubrey and I set out with the goal of making it a long run, and although it was only 73 degrees outside today, the approaching remnants of Hurricane Ike brought 93% humidity with it. My thought was this - when I got to the Osbourne/Cummings split I would decide between a shorter 4 mile run or the longer 7+ mile run. When I got there I felt great, so we went for it. I ran out of water and I developed a cramp in my left calf about mile 5 1/2, but not bad enough that I needed to stop.
I’ll be honest with you, the only bad part of this run was that I sweat so much in the first mile alone that the sweat-drenched shirt rubbed and chafed my left nipple. I know, TMI, but true.
I felt so good after the run and I was excited to show April my progress. I should talk to Justin about training for a half marathon.
