Today was a bit of a test for me. I waited until April got home so she could watch the kids and I went for my first solo run. I wanted to see how much impact the stroller was having on my performance. I knew that pushing the stroller uphill was certainly slowing me down, but I wasn’t sure if the downhill “pull” was negating the increase in load. Short version - the stroller is a great training tool, because without it I turned in my fastest time yet, and I felt great at the end of the run. I did a short run because April had to work tonight and she needed some shut eye before her shift, but tomorrow (Saturday) I’m going to do a nice long run. The weather was perfect (mid 60s) with just enough wind to keep you cool, but not so much as to act like a wall. I mailed off my registration form for my first road race in nearly decade, so I spent most of my run questioning whether I’d be ready, or whether I’d look like an out of shape fool. Time will tell.
